Patterning for skirt with a yoke.

How to pattern for slight flare;
To add flare onto the front of the skirt I had to extend the line from the hip to the hem. I then had to extend the width of the side front skirt by 2.5cm. When adding slight flare I repeated the above process on to the side seam, extended a line from the centre back waist to the hem. I then extended the hem line towards the centre back by 1cm for extra ease.
How to pattern the yoke;
This is a horizontal line that goes across the top of any garment, in this case it was to go across the top of the skirt. I placed mine at the bottom of the longest dart as seen on the picture.
I then traced off the yoke and closed up the dart. I then had to add a seam allowance onto my final pattern.
How to pattern for a box pleat;
I drew a vertical line from the yoke line to the hem. Our boxpleat line is approximately 5cm from the centre front line. Once that was done I then had to slash up the box pleat line, I then inserted a piece of paper 10cm in width and that then gave me half of my box pleat.
How to pattern for a kick pleat;
Firstly I extended the width of the hem line at the centre back by approximately 5cm, I then drew a parallel vertical line to the centre back. I then finished it off with a 45 degree angle.
How to pattern for the facings;
I needed to add facings to my skirt as this helps to neaten up any raw edges giving it a more professional finish. I drew a horizontal line from the waist 5cm in depth on the front and the back. I then traced it off and closed up the darts and added in a seam allowance on my final pattern for the front and back.
