Creating the toile for my final design

Well the fashion show is getting closer and i've had so much work to get completed in time for the show. I have now began to make my toile to help me problem solve through the method of trial and error, I have also began documenting all of my progress within my toile diary. I have sampled the difficult areas of my design to find out what would work best and help me to make improvements to create the highest quality garment for the show itself.
I am aiming to hit a very visionary target group, I really would like my work to be very unique and stand out. Ive been putting alot of effort into creating my design and just wanted to share my progress.

Here are the panelled patterns for creating the underdress

During manufacture I realised my patterns were slightly big therefor I altered it by chopping the amount I needed from my toile then I placed it onto my pattern and cut it away to allow my pattern to become the correct size for my final garment.

I realised that the back panels were slightly to big and had to chop them down to fit the shape of the bodice perfectly.

Here I inserted my concealed zip, I found problems inserting the zip as the zip broke during manufacture and I then had to redo the entire process which I found to be quite stressfull.

Here is my complete underdress, I am very impressed with this I think that it fits perfectly and I am really happy with the outcome.

Here I began to create the pattern for my street lamp feature, I had to figure out where it would be placed on the bodice and how big i needed to make it.

Here is the complete pattern for the feature.

Here I began to cut the pattern from a strong structured material.

Here I had to hand stitch the neck of my dress to give a nice finish and to fit in with my target audience.

Here I began to sample in my toile diary how I was going to insert the rope into the structured top.

More samples.

Here I sampled how to sew the seam of my structured garment, I found this material a very big challenge to sew. I then had to spray paint the material black as it was not the correct colour.

This is my toile so far, I am very happy with the outcome so far, however I think that I need to work on the structure of the top of the garment as it doesn't fit quite right. I will keep you updated on the progress once I have competed this.
