Creating a maxi skirt

Recently in pattern cutting I started to manufacture my Maxi skirt. I started off by folding my fabric at a 90` angle as it was to be cut on the bias. I then had to cut my waist band out on the straight grain so that I was left with all my fabric pattern.
I started out by deciding which side I wanted my zip to go and what zip I wanted to use. I then had to overlock down each side of my fabric where the zip would go.
I then inserted a concealed zip into this seam and sewed the seam as an open seam to the zip. I then had to press my seam.
I created a closed seam on the other side seam.
I then manufactured a waist band by ironing the interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric. I then sewed a 1.5cm seam allowance at each end, creating a button stand. During this time I pressed down a 1.5cm seam allowance along the waist band edge.
After I had created my button stand I then had to reduce the bulk I did this by turning it the correct way.
I then pinned the right side of the waist band to the wrong side of the skirt and then I sewed this.

I will post a photo of the finished garment when completed.

My complete maxi skirt.
